The clay in CLAY-CAL supports digestion, helps neutralize pH levels, and binds toxins. Bentonite possesses excellent absorbent properties and is thus ideal for detoxification (e.g., from toxins, bacteria, or other contaminants). As an alkalizing agent, and with the resulting increased pH level, bentonite can help make the bird more resistant to diseases. Moreover, CLAY-CAL is soluble and should not be confused with traditional grit.Rich source of calcium: CLAY-CAL is enriched with calcium and strengthens the development and maintenance of bones and feathers, the nervous system, muscle function, blood clotting, and heart function. Additionally, calcium can help reduce laying difficulties and feather plucking.Feeding recommendation: As a daily supplement: Sprinkle a teaspoon of CLAY-CAL over greens, fruits, or vegetables. The moisture in the feed ensures that CLAY-CAL is well absorbed and enhances the benefits of the cationic properties. This also increases the likelihood that the animals will completely consume CLAY-CAL. If you want to mix CLAY-CAL with pellets or seeds, add 2 teaspoons of CLAY-CAL. The next morning, the sludge will have settled at the bottom, with a cloudy liquid above it. You can offer this liquid to your bird.Repeat this for the next 21 days. Fresh water should always be available for your bird and changed daily. You can also make good use of the healing sludge, for example, as a bandage.Other use as healing sludge: You can use the aforementioned healing sludge as a bandage for your injured birds. CLAY-CAL is particularly suitable for hard-to-bandage areas, such as toes or wings. While the sludge dries on the wound, it draws out toxins and can support faster and better healing.
